At LEO Pharma, we are seeking a high‑performing Business Unit leader to lead the Critical Care Business Unit in Canada, with full accountability for financial performance, operations, and people leadership within a global, values‑driven organization. This is a high‑impact role driving both national results and global alignment.
Your Role:
As the Business Unit Director, you will be accountable for the overall financial and operational success of the business, ensuring strong country contribution and alignment with global Critical Care priorities. You will be a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team and an active participant in the Extended Global Critical Care Leadership Team, operating effectively within LEO Pharma’s global matrix organization.
This is a hybrid role, based out of LEO’s downtown Toronto office.
Your Responsibilities:
International Involvement

Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the parent company, ensuring Canadian input into key global initiatives and collaboration areas.

Serve as a member of the Extended Critical Care Leadership Team, contributing to strategic and operational decision‑making to achieve long‑term objectives through the optimal integration of the LEO Pharma Canada business unit.

Identify, plan, and mitigate risks in close collaboration with local and global supply chain partners.
Sales and Marketing

Execute and manage National Business and Project Plans with associated costs and resources (P & L) effectively and profitably.

Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of Key Account Managers.

Build strong, senior‑level relationships with Hospital Administrators, Pharmacy Directors, Provincial Health Authorities, and GPOs.

Lead and support national and provincial GPO submissions and negotiations.

Drive differentiated, nationalized business planning aligned across regions.

Lead marketing and patient support initiatives in partnership with Finance and cross‑functional teams.
Medical
-
Engage and contribute to Medical collaboration to ensure alignment in strategy and operational objectives.
Planning, Budgeting & Operations

Develop and manage short‑ and long‑term budgets.

Allocate resources effectively to maximize sales impact.

Maintain strong operational and financial governance across the business.
Staff and Structure
-
Build, attract, and retain a diverse, high‑capability team.

Foster a performance‑driven culture supported by effective engagement, development, and compensation practices.

Oversee third‑party vendors, including Regulatory Affairs and Patient Support.

Ensure full compliance with SOPs, pharmacovigilance requirements, and company policies.
Your Qualifications:

10+ years Senior Sales and Marketing Management experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Relevant B.Sc. and/or Business Degree.

Ability and willingness to travel.

Excellent communicator with executive presence (English required; French an asset).

Proven experience leading P&L, national business planning, and complex stakeholder environments.

Comfortable operating in a global, matrixed organization.

You will lead a talented Canadian Critical Care team while collaborating closely with cross‑functional colleagues locally and globally in LEO Pharma’s matrix organization. You will also partner with a broad range of external stakeholders, including healthcare leaders, industry partners, and vendors. Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $215,000 - $240,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
