Corporate Counsel - UK & Germany

Therefore, we are now looking for a Corporate Counsel that can be a trusted legal business partner for our affiliates in UK and Germany with the opportunity to shape the future and help people with skin diseases live more fulfilling lives by advancing the standard of care. 

In this role, you will support the business with strong legal advice paired with a sound business understanding and pragmatic mindset. You will be trusted with responsibility and freedom to perform, which requires a structured work approach, and as part of this, you know when to ask for support and guidance to keep things in motion. 

Your role

As the Corporate Counsel for UK and Germany, you will be overall responsible for the legal operations in these two countries with the support of our many great colleagues and experts based in our Danish headquarter. Your main objectives will be to provide trusted legal advice, negotiate and draft agreements, handle disputes, manage legal risks, and optimize work processes within your area of responsibility: 

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to the respective Leadership Teams (LTs).
• Negotiate and draft agreements, providing strategic and legal advice during negotiations and beyond.
• Handle and resolve disputes, offering guidance on how to manage potential conflicts.
• Implement legal risk management strategies to protect LEO Pharma’s rights and interests.

This is an hybrid role with a mix of office and home working. You can be based in either UK for our Maidenhead office or Germany for our Frankfurt office. 

Your qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications: 

• A law degree and completed legal training to work as a lawyer or solicitor in either UK or Germany.  
• Experience working in a private law firm or in-house legal counsel in private international company is required.  
• Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. 
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to thrive in a multicultural work setting.

As a person you have a positive attitude with an ability to prioritise,  have excellent communication skills and thrive when working in a collaborative environment.

You will be joining a collaborative and dynamic team of legal and compliance professionals based across the globe and be a part of our International Operations Legal & Compliance team within Global Legal & Compliance, counting approximately 50 specialists.
