Your Role: 

As an integral member of the North American Legal & Compliance team, you will champion the continued growth of Region US by delivering strategic oversight and legal guidance. You will serve as the legal representative for promotional review across LEO Pharma’s cutting‑edge and expanding portfolio, ensuring compliance and enabling informed, confident decision‑making across the business. 

 

This is a hybrid role, based out of LEO’s Madison, NJ office.  

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Provide expert legal counsel on the advertising and promotion of pharmaceutical products. 

  • Serve as the legal representative on internal review committees evaluating direct-to-consumer pieces, product information, disease awareness campaigns, patient education, support programs, press releases, and more to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, including internal company policies.  

  • Offer strategic guidance on pre‑launch and launch activities to ensure compliance across the product lifecycle. 

  • Collaborate with Legal & Compliance colleagues to deliver cohesive, comprehensive support to the organization. 

  • Provide expert legal guidance to LEO Affiliates conducting activities in the US market. 

  • Support internal investigations into potential violations of company policies or the LEO Code of Conduct, ensuring thorough and compliant resolutions, as necessary. 

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to support business needs and ensure favorable outcomes. 

  • Monitor relevant laws and regulations, assessing changes that may impact the business. 

  • Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, including due diligence and integration. 

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures to strengthen the Compliance program. 

 

Your Qualifications: 

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. 

  • In-house legal experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences company. 

  • Experience with biologics and/or rare disease products preferred. 

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, assess risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies. 

  • Collaborative team player with a demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects. 

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. 

 

Your New Team: 

You will join a dedicated, collaborative North American Legal & Compliance team that will collaborate with and provide support to various departments across the LEO Pharma organization, including Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Human Resources, and Communications. 

 

Compensation:  

The base salary range for this position is $225,000 - $250,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
