Your Role:

The Associate Medical Director is responsible for the development of medical strategy for dersimelagon. The individual will provide medical/scientific strategic and operational expertise for core scientific affairs activities such as scientific data generation and communication, competitive landscape analysis, utilization of insights, establishing Key Opinion Leader map and drive interactions. They will provide leadership, oversight, and support as a cross-functional medical team lead, will collaborate with commercial team to provide medical input into commercial strategies, and will collaborate with Global medical teams.

This is a hybrid role, based out of LEO’s Madison, NJ office.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute North American medical strategy and tactical plans for dersimelagon.
  • Provide medical and scientific leadership in data generation, scientific communications, competitive intelligence, and insight gathering.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and lead external scientific engagements.
  • Contribute medical expertise to launch plans, brand strategies, lifecycle management, and global business planning.
  • Support publication planning and development of manuscripts, congress abstracts, symposium presentations, and posters.
  • Review scientific and medical materials, including protocols, manuscripts, proposals, and response documents.
  • Lead medical advisory boards and present scientific data to internal and external audiences.
  • Provide medical review support through the Legal Medical Review Committee and ensure compliant scientific communications.
  • Champion LEO Pharma's patient-centric approach and help identify unmet patient needs.
  • Manage scientific affairs activities and associated budgets while contributing to cross-functional initiatives.

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Medical degree required; dermatology experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical research.
  • Strong understanding of medical affairs, clinical development, regulatory requirements, and scientific communications.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering across commercial, regulatory, legal, and medical teams.
  • Experience managing Key Opinion Leader relationships and facilitating medical advisory boards.
  • Proven publication planning experience and ability to communicate complex clinical and scientific information effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and drive results in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

Your New Team:

This role will have key working relationships with NA Medical Affairs, US Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development , and other Global teams.

 

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $230,000 USD per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
