Your Role
The Associate Director, Medical Publications will support the development and implementation of strategic and tactical Publication plans for LEO Pharma products. This role collaborates with internal cross-functional teams and provides support as a key contact for internal/external stakeholders, with respect to scientific publications.
Your Responsibilities
• Supports the development of a strategic and tactical publication plan throughout the product lifecycle (including manuscripts, congress abstracts, symposium presentations and poster presentations), in alignment with the US and Global medical plan
• Communicates efficiently and transparently with internal and external stakeholders on aspects of scientific publications. while upholding scientific integrity and balance.
• Collaborates with Medical Information and Field Medical teams to identify trends in customer needs, and prioritizes addressing education gaps through the development of relevant materials.
• Reviews medical publications for content accuracy and balance; suggests changes when needed.
• Reviews and analyzes current literature and identifies gaps in published information from clinical trials.
• Collaborates with cross-functional project teams and brand teams to provide input into relevant processes on behalf of US Medical Affairs/Publications.
• Support strategy and scientific content development for major scientific meetings and advisory boards
• Utilizes periodic literature searches and manages software to store and file published articles, peer reviewed publications, books, meeting abstracts, posters and presentations in an organized library/database.
• Identifies new published information on LEO products and alerts Medical Information specialists for generation of new Standard Response Letters.
• Provides content and editorial support for select publications.
• Collaborates closely with Medical Communication vendor companies.
• Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and collaborates on the development of tools to assess the impact of publications.
• Gathers intelligence on competitors; performs critical analyses and synthesis of data.
• Serves as the subject matter expert on innovative strategies for amplifying LEO publications to reach a broader network of tar-get audiences.
• Collaborates with LEO Global Publications teams to streamline and enhance existing publication processes.
Your Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree (PharmD or PhD) in biosciences or related fields is preferred.
• 3- 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs as publications lead &/or publications medical writer, or 5 years of publications/ medical communication agency experience
• Experience with Pharma publication planning required
• Experience in launch planning and execution of launch related Medical/Medical Communications tactics
• Ability to conduct focused literature searches on topics relevant to LEO Pharma's disease areas
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong formal presentation skills
• Strong organization and time management skills; the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
• Customer-focused and growth-oriented mindset
• Medical communications vendor management experience
• Proven track record of driving publications innovation & working successfully with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity and application of AMA Manual of style; knowledge of scientific publications regulations & best practices
• Basic knowledge of clinical development processes & appropriate application of biostatistics; proficiency using standard software suites
• Familiarity and application of reference organization programs
• Ability to travel approximately 20% (including to major congresses)
The base salary range for this position is $167,000 - $225,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
