Role Description

Objective

Responsible for training, initiatives, and resources that increase the quality of US Field Medical competencies and execution of objectives.

 

Role and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Global Medical, Global Clinical operations, USMA and other internal stakeholders to inform and deliver the overall strategies.
• Collaborate with FMLT, US and global Medical colleagues to design, implement, and evaluate the US Field Medical training plan.
• Ensures relevant scientific content and skills are incorporated and delivered in a timely manner for all training programs for Field Medical personnel in alignment with USMA strategy.
• Plans, coordinates, and evaluates MSL and MOL onboarding in collaboration with the hiring manager, Human Resources, Medical Directors, global initiatives, and subject matter experts. 
• Serves as point of contact with global and US Publication Director to incorporate data releases into the Field Medical Training Plan.
• Monitor the external landscape and deliver ongoing assessments of Field Medical strategy and initiatives for gaps & opportunities offering strategic advantage
• Propose, design, and implement innovative Field Medical Excellence engagement methods and technology adoption to establish or redefine best practices 
• Serve on Medical and cross-functional teams for projects and initiatives, including analyses to proactively identify or escalate issues, propose solutions and modify strategies
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing colleagues to plan and execute Sales Training, speaker training, and other initiatives upon request.
• Collaborate with leadership to plan & budget resources
• Serve on cross-functional teams as dermatology SME, FM operations and KOL engagement expert
• Propose and implement processes that accelerate results and reduce administrative burden on FM personnel
• Support the development of Field Medical Excellence resources by US Medical Directors, or global colleagues, acting as project sponsor and a resource where needed
• Serve on cross-functional CRM operations & design improvement teams.
• Present medical and scientific content at Medical or Marketing advisory boards and/or moderate Medical advisory boards upon request of Medical Directors and with National Director endorsement
• Create/oversee the creation of medical slides for review & approval by Medical Director and/or Nat’l Dir, Field Medical

 

Job Specific Competencies

• PharmD, Ph.D., MD, DO preferred
• 10+ years MSL experience working in pharmaceutical industry, dermatology background preferred
• Thorough understanding of Dermatology or Immunology and clinical research
• Experience developing FM stakeholder engagement resources & training
• Demonstrated experience in cross-functional project leadership
• Ability to lead and challenge multifunctional teams through complex circumstances
• Exceptional customer focus; interpersonal savvy
• Ability to outline new structures/processes and communicate feasibility in ambiguous or evolving situations
• Exceptional knowledge of the current US pharmaceutical climate and applicable laws, regulations and standards
• Ability and willingness to travel ~70% of the time
• Ability to advise on development, optimization and execution of a territory Field Medical plan
• Experience creating field medical training, medical communication and stakeholder engagement resources
• Demonstrated ability to interpret, inform and execute Medical and Field Medical strategy

• Demonstrated project management experience
• Strong analytical skills, results and solution-oriented perspective and expertise in the field environment 
• Demonstrated strong ability to present to senior leadership and influence without authority
• A change agent, understands the impact of change, effectively assesses and manages risk, leads through demonstration of adaptability, agility and informed optimism
• An ideal candidate lives within 45 minutes of a major US airport
