Your Role:
The Associate Director, Business Development & New Product Planning will lead Region North America commercial assessments and analyses for new products within LEO Pharma’s portfolio or under evaluation—optimizing their potential value for patients and stakeholders. You will assess business development opportunities, evaluate market potential for new products and lifecycle management initiatives, and develop strategic program recommendations grounded in robust insights and data. This role is accountable for ensuring successful commercialization within Region NA.
In addition, you will partner with global colleagues to identify and execute asset maximization opportunities across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organization’s broader strategic goals.
This is a hybrid role, based out of our Madison, NJ office.
Your Responsibilities:

Lead lifecycle management for portfolio assets from a Region NA perspective, project managing key workstreams and driving key activities in collaboration with medical and commercial.

Build robust business cases for new product development and lifecycle management initiatives, incorporating revenue projections, pricing strategies, and market access considerations for the US and Canada, working closely with market access and analytics/forecasting.

Drive project management of early clinical-stage assets, representing Region NA and sitting on key decision making teams.

Contribute to the development of regional launch strategies and tactical plans for new products and line extensions.

Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, unmet needs, and emerging trends within dermatology for Region NA.

Utilize various data sources and methodologies (e.g., secondary research, market reports, claims data, competitor intelligence, etc.) to size market opportunities and forecast future market potential.

Develop detailed market landscape assessments, including competitor profiling, SWOT analysis, and treatment algorithms, incorporating market dynamics (e.g., national access, reimbursement)

Foster strong collaborative relationships with Business Development, Market Access, and Analytics/Forecasting teams within North America to ensure alignment on market assessments, product development strategies, and launch plans

Work closely with global early asset team, and global development / medical, providing regional expertise / perspectives, and ensuring alignment

Flexibly support other priority projects and analyses as needed within Region NA
Your Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical/medical industry experience or related consulting experience

Strong level of scientific acumen; a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Advanced degree: particularly PhD, MD, or Masters degree preferred

Direct experience in commercial strategy, new product planning or commercial assessment preferred

Familiarity with US market access and reimbursement landscape strongly preferred, experience with Canada as well would be a plus

Understanding of sales and marketing requirements, and key commercial processes

Ability to be strategic and prioritize key projects to deliver with optimal impact

Ability to think holistically and align complementary commercial insights

Ability to recognize and obtain actionable insights

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional projects and teams with multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership

Strong strategic and analytical skills to frame issues, interpret data, conduct accurate analyses, and apply creative approaches to problem-solving.

Strong financial acumen with experience generating forecasts and business cases

Excellent presentation skills with the ability to establish logical flow and key points to realize objectives

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point required

Ability to handle confidential information and data with the upmost care and demonstration of highest ethical standards
The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
