Role Description

Overall Objective: 

  • Develop promotional medical education, speakers’ bureau and congress strategy, implementation and tracking. Partner with key stakeholders across the US organization to ensure successful implementation.

  • Accountable for the development, implementation, and monitoring of an effective and innovative promotional education strategy, speakers’ bureau and congress strategy across LEO portfolio. Additional responsibilities in-clude partnering closely with cross functional teams including HCP market-ing, Thought Leader Liaison teams, Field Sales, and Medical.

 

Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute impactful class promotional medical education, speakers’ bureau and congress strategy.

  • Create strategic plans in coordination with broader marketing team and across functions to drive HCP education and engagement

  • Establish productive and sustainable work relationships between US Marketing and key internal interfaces including Sales, Regulatory, Medical, Compliance and key global functions.

  • Lead strategy and execution of HCP education efforts including effective promotional educational program mix: live, virtual, national webinar, clinical consults, symposia, and incorporation of digital strategy for recruitment and follow-up

  • Manage Peer to Peer (P2P) speaker bureau agency, budget, and execution across portfolio

  • Manage execution of speaker programs in close partnership with field team for proper utilization, reach, and ensure compliance

  • Manage and execute speaker relationships and speaker trainings including identification criteria, recruitment, speaking training, and regular communication

  • Drive the development of insightful and impactful HCP education materials (speaker decks, product theater materials) in conjunction with agency of record.

  • Lead strategy and execution for HCP congress planning and activities including exhibits, sponsorship, promotional events, product theaters, etc.

    • Plan and attend key scientific congresses & conventions, se-curing feasible promotional presence (e.g. booth, product theaters and distribution of promotional material etc.), meeting with customers and KOL partners, participating in ad boards, and attending key scientific sessions.

  • Build value-creating relationships with key opinion leaders in the medical community

  • Lead promotional advisory boards and KOL steering committee meetings

  • Manage and maintain key performance indicators to track brand performance and execution of tactics.

  • Budget management for promotional medical education, speakers’ bureau and congress plans

  • Effectively managing vendor relationships; communicating strategic vision and organizational plan to ensure vendors are aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Complete all company-based and job-related training as assigned by LEO Pharma within the required timelines

  • Additional duties as assigned by LEO Pharma Management

 

Key Working Relationships: 

  • Vendors – collaborate to create digital content aligned with LEO’s stra-tegic goals; receive targeted research and information regarding spe-cific demographics

  • Commercial Operations – collect analytical insights derived from data gathered thru vendors and digital outreach programs

  • Sales – receive insights collected thru prescriber interactions

  • Medical – partner with Medical on optimal data presentation through promotional medical education channels

  • Thought Leader Liasions – partner to secure key opinion leader input on promotional medical education tactics

  • LMR- partner on the approval of all promotional medical education content

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MA/MS/MBA preferred

  • 10+ years relevant experience with increasing responsibility, with concentration of 5+ years in Promotional Medical Education, Strategic Marketing, or HCP Marketing experience for a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company; launch experience preferred

  • 5+ years of managing vendors such as advertising or medical education agencies in support of pharmaceutical marketing strategies and tactics

  • Dermatology/Immunology biologic experience desired, but not required · Strong collaborative and strategic marketing skills required

  • Technology savvy, business-oriented and nimble learning abilities required · Champions creative ideas and moves them into implementation

  • Highly developed oral, written and leadership skills to deliver communications in an objective, succinct, and data-driven manner.

  • Proven ability working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with the ability to influence at different levels without hierarchical authority

  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.

  • Detail orientation and strong organization, prioritization and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements for pre- and post-approval activities

  •  Ability to lead through influence

  • Previous people management preferred

  • The ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 25%)
