Your Role

The Medical Outcomes Liaison role is a remote position, supporting our Central territory, sitting within LEO's North America Medical Affairs (NAMA) organization. This role will serve as the medical point of contact for Region US with assigned national and regional payer organizations,  engaging in clinical, health economics, and health outcomes interactions.

 

Your Responsibilities

•    Leads medical, health economics, and health outcomes point of contact with regional and national health care payers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), integrated delivery networks, and health systems.  Proactively and reactively engage payer/PBM executives and their designates (pharmacy, medical, quality, value assessment, etc.), external scientific experts, and relevant business influencers in clinical and health outcome-based information for all portfolio and pipeline products to inform access and reimbursement decisions.
•    Provides medical leadership and develop medical account strategies and action plans for each of the portfolio and pipeline products and collaborate closely with a team of Regional Account Executives and National Account Direc-tors.
•    Promotes and demonstrates strong cross-functional teamwork with field-based and headquarters-based medical and commercial colleagues to meet customer needs with the highest levels of quality and customer-focused support.
•    Builds enduring partnerships with internal colleagues as well as with customer executives, decision-makers,  scientific experts, and key influencers.
•    Brings value to customers by leveraging the expertise of colleagues when relevant to customer discussions and responses to customer’s requests. 
•    Remains current on disease state literature,  health policy changes and trends, new data on company products and competitors, and methodologies for generating health economics and real-world evidence.
•    Teaches others in the company Health Economic and clinical information.
•    Continuously improves the quality of customer engagements; builds and maintains a strong reputation in the industry as a “best in class” health outcomes team.  

 

Your Qualifications

•    Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, MD, DO, PharmD, MS, MPH) or related health science field and a minimum of 7 years of experience, with advanced training
•    At least 7 years of payer/health care consulting/health policy/pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device industry relevant experience
•    Market access and/or account facing managed market experience
•    Prior experience in a field-based Medical Affairs role focusing on payer needs; a working knowledge of advanced IDN accounts and National/Regional accounts
•    Working knowledge of health policy and healthcare trends impacting the healthcare industry, including quality of care, performance measures, value-based reimbursement and payment models, care coordination, various payer segments (private and public), and managed markets
•    Experience conducting and presenting research studies 
•    Bonus: established network of relationships with payers
•    Excellent knowledge and command of clinical trial design and methodology, observational study designs, epidemiology, biostatistics, value frameworks and health economic principles

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with and ability to articulate and defend the full clinical value proposition for assigned brands
  • Must reside within close proximity to a major airport, preferably ~50 miles, and be willing and able to travel up to 70% within the Central U.S. territory.
