Senior Data Privacy Compliance Counsel

This is a 12-month maternity cover position, with the intention that the role may become permanent subject to business needs.

Your role  

You will be responsible for for driving, executing, and developing LEO Pharma’s data privacy program, including propose and assist in deciding the overall level of development, strategy and risk. 

Key responsibilities  

• Lead and develop LEO Pharma’s data privacy program, including policies, procedures, controls, and strategic recommendations aligned with the company’s maturity, risk profile, and business objectives.

• Manage and optimize the data privacy management tool, including implementation, configuration, maintenance, accuracy, and user training materials in collaboration with relevant internal teams.

• Monitor compliance and privacy risk, identifying gaps in policies and practices, supporting audits, and serving as a key contact for the DPO and relevant legal stakeholders.

• Oversee operational privacy processes, including data subject rights requests, incident and breach management, breach logging, risk assessments, and regulatory reporting.

• Drive privacy training and awareness, ensuring global privacy and OneTrust training content is up to date, deployed effectively, and supported through the Data Protection Focal Point Network.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, IT, Security, HR, and business teams, to embed data privacy into business operations and provide advice on operational and HR-related privacy matters.

Your qualifications 

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have: 

• Master’s degree in Law and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal or compliance role with a strong focus on data privacy and data protection.

• Strong expertise in data privacy laws and regulations, with proven ability to interpret requirements and translate them into practical business policies, procedures, and controls.

• Experience managing privacy management tools, such as OneTrust or similar platforms, including supporting data inventories, compliance processes, and governance activities.

• Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify privacy risks and drive appropriate mitigation actions.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, deliver training, and build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization.

• Highly organized and self-driven, with strong project management capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
