Your Role 

As Procurement Deputy Category Manager R&D, you will co-own procurement activities within assigned R&D categories, working closely with the Category Manager, internal stakeholders, and strategic suppliers. You will play a key role in driving value, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring professional execution of category strategies. 

Your key responsibilities include: 

• Supporting development and execution of category and subcategory strategies 

• Analyzing spend, supplier, and market data to identify optimization and cost-saving opportunities 

• Leading tenders and RFX processes and contributing to the procurement pipeline 

• Negotiating commercial terms and ensuring suppliers are covered by compliant contracts in cooperation with Legal 

• Managing suppliers, including SRM activities, performance reviews, and KPI follow-up 

• Acting as a trusted procurement advisor to key stakeholders across the organization 

• Leading procurement and sourcing projects and ensuring transparency in supplier selection 

• Ensuring day-to-day procurement decisions align with LEO Pharma strategy 

Your Qualifications 

To excel in this role, you should bring: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, biology, pharmacy, or a similar field 

• Solid understanding of R&D procurement categories and supply markets 

• Experience from the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or equivalent, preferably in roles such as Buyer, Procurement Specialist, Junior/Associate Category Manager, or Clinical Alliance/Vendor Manager 

• Experience working in international organizations is an advantage 

• Proven skills in negotiation, contract management, stakeholder management, and supplier management 

• Experience with CRO contracts and commercial/legal terms is preferred 

• Project or program management experience within procurement is an advantage 

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken 

• Analytical, proactive, and collaborative mindset with strong communication skills 

Your New Team 

You will join the Commercial, Indirect and R&D Procurement team and report to the Director of Commercial, Indirect and R&D Procurement. You will work closely with colleagues across Line of Business, Quality, Finance, Legal, Global Procurement functions, and a wide range of external suppliers in an international setting.
