AP and T&E Specialist - 18 months

We are seeking a finance professional to oversee and control Accounts Payable operations, ensuring compliance with policies, accounting standards, and best practices. This role focuses on monitoring AP activities, strengthening internal controls, and supporting stakeholder engagement, rather than transactional processing.

Your role

You will monitor AP activities and T&E expenses, resolve aged balances, and provide accurate, timely reporting. Acting as a key partner to stakeholders, you will support queries, ensure compliance with policies and internal controls, and maintain strong business relationships across the organization. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Oversee AP processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Monitor overdue invoices, aged balances, and T&E expenses, providing guidance to the operations team on resolution.
  • Review and approve expense reports, credit card requests, and reconciliations in line with company policy.
  • Analyse AP metrics, identify process gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, user guides, and best practice manuals to ensure consistent quality standards.
  • Act as a primary liaison between finance operations and stakeholders, resolving escalations and ensuring smooth communication.
  • Support month-end close by reviewing reconciliations and ensuring timely reporting and compliance.

 

 

Your qualifications

 

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:

•    A university degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting 
•    3 to 5 years of experience in AP 
•    Solid knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is a must) Advanced Excel skills
•    Good understanding of end-to-end AP and T&E processes, upstream procurement processes & invoice payment processes 
•    Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers 
•    Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software 
•    Fluent English both written and spoken 
•    Experience in working with Outsourced partners will be an added value
