Your Role 

As a Patent Counsel, you will be responsible for securing, maintaining, defending, and enforcing LEO Pharma's patent rights. Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Identifying and capturing commercially relevant patentable inventions in assigned areas/projects. 

• Advising on patentability requirements and raising awareness of patent-related issues. 

• Managing external patent counsel effectively and cost-efficiently. 

• Providing due diligence assessments and contractual evaluations for acquisitions or licensing of assets. 

• Communicating patenting activities and ensuring alignment with relevant stakeholders. 

• Managing patent records and ensuring effective patent portfolio management. 

• Advising on freedom to operate and providing practical advice on new business opportunities. 

• Defending patents/patent applications against third-party challenges. 

• Conducting publication review and clearance. 

Your Qualifications 

To excel in this role, you will need: 

• A scientific degree (Bachelor’s or higher), preferably in Chemistry or Biochemistry, but any life science discipline is acceptable. 

• Qualification as a US patent attorney or European Patent Attorney. 

• Experience from the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is a plus. 

• Experience in managing global patent prosecution and/or litigation. 

• A structured and systematic approach to working. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

• Passion, self-motivation, ambition, and result-driven mindset. 

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken 

• Strong IT skills.
