Are you ready to help shape a future legacy in medical dermatology in Ireland?
At LEO Pharma, we pioneer dermatology solutions to improve lives globally. We are seeking an experienced Senior Material Planner to join our Dublin team, reporting to the Head of Site Supply Chain Lead FGMIE.
In our Site Supply Chain team, we share a “challenge accepted” mindset and are guided by our winning behaviours of simplification, collaboration, and accountability, to achieve our goals.
Your Role
As Senior Material Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring uninterrupted, compliant supply of materials across development and commercial stages. You will provide operational and technical leadership for procurement planning, inventory strategy and supplier management, while partnering with Production, Quality, Procurement, Commercial and other cross‑functional teams to balance supply continuity with optimised working capital.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop and maintain effective, trust-based relationships with key suppliers to ensure open communication, timely responses, and proactive problem-solving.
- Provide operational leadership for the procurement process for assigned categories, including issuing and amending purchase orders within your authority.
- Collaborate with Procurement teams to input into shaping the supply chain roadmap and strategic initiatives.
- Manage master data affecting supply, such as lead times, minimum order quantities, and lot sizes, ensuring accuracy across the enterprise resource planning system.
- Own monthly Sales and Operations Planning inputs and the Material Supply Reviews over 24-month horizon, coupled with vendor performance reporting.
- Analyse demand and supply data to identify shortages, obsolescence, or excess inventory; developing mitigation and optimisation plans.
- Lead and contribute to improvement projects such as supplier lead-time reduction, inventory optimisation, rationalising product ranges, or optimising lot sizes for efficiency and cost.
- Assess supply impacts of new material introductions or supplier changes, supporting change control processes while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing and Good Distribution Practices.
- Champion continuous improvement, embedding best practices in supplier collaboration, performance management, and data-driven decision-making.
Your Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Procurement, or equivalent by experience
- Significant experience in material planning, procurement or supply chain roles within a regulated environment, ideally in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Thorough understanding of current Good Practice (cGxP) requirements and Quality Management System (QMS) standards, and their impact on planning activities.
- Experienced at building long-term, value-driven supplier partnerships and influencing supplier behaviour through data, trust, and negotiation.
- Extensive SAP expertise including Production Planning, MRP and other associated aspects of Materials Management.
- Proven experience in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and other associated material planning discussions.
- Demonstrable experience of balancing commercial priorities with operational and compliance requirements
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to present supply risks and recommendations to senior leaders, influence outcomes, and align multiple stakeholders.
- Comfortable working autonomously while also driving cross-functional initiatives that align with the overall supply chain strategy.
