As a Medical Lead for Iberia, you will become the expert in scientific affairs matters with the responsibility for creating and driving medical strategy across the Iberian affiliate for Thrombosis.  This role provides medical expertise into Brand Strategies and Medical guidance and governance for LEO Thrombosis.

 

Your role

As a Medical Lead for Iberia, we expect that you:

 

  • Lead the development of the Medical Strategy Plans for the 2 countries.
  • Provide medical expertise and input into Brand Strategy.
  • Develop KEE and Stakeholder engagement plans in accordance with the overall strategic plans.
  • Lead the development, attend and present as an expert at appropriate external and internal meetings (advisory board meetings, investigator meetings, KEE meetings, CME, Conferences, LEO meetings, etc.).
  • Ensure the timely review and processing of Investigator Initiated Studies (IISs) within affiliate and Global Medical Affairs Thrombosis with primary responsibility for local IIS approval and communications with investigators. Contribute to Global IIS or Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) initiatives as assigned.
  • Manage the local medical budgets for Thrombosis.
  • Develop and maintain up to date knowledge of the therapy area by reviewing the literature, discussions with KEEs and key stakeholders, participating in cross functional interactions, attending scientific congresses, etc.
  • Responsible for the medical and compliance review of external material.
  • Lead Thrombosis MSL team; create an environment for successful implementation of medical activities and relevant KPI measures – 1 direct report.
  • Trains and mentors’ new colleagues in the affiliate on therapeutic area and clinical pathway. 
  • Response to requests for scientific/medical support from external stakeholders.
  • Provide continuous scientific updates to local teams as appropriate.
  • Execute other duties as may be required by the Head of Global Medical Affairs Thrombosis and other members of LEO Pharma’s Management team as training and experience allow.
  • Complete mandatory training in assigned timelines upon hire as well as when new policies, SOP's, guidance’s are issued.
  • Attendance at national and international congresses as required.

 

Your qualifications 

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications: 

 

  • MD, PhD, PharmD or masters in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and experience in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • 5 years of experience in driving and managing the medical strategy in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in oncology.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills and to represent the company in a professional manner at medical, scientific and public events. 
  • Independent, self-driven, pro-active, extrovert and dynamic.
  • Ability to form relationships quickly and have demonstrable persuasive abilities.
  • Highly effective communicator both orally and in writing; can get ideas across one-on-one, in group settings as well as in presentations.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and know how to collaborate and engage many stakeholders across a large organization.
  • Good analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Masters project management tools and methods.
  • Resource management and financial skills to control budgets.
  • Fluent in English (corporate language) and Spanish.
