Your role

 

As Senior Corporate Counsel you will join the R&D Legal & HQ Operations team within the Global Legal & Compliance department and take up the important role as a trusted legal business partner for the R&D organization. You will play a pivotal role in supporting relevant functions such as Global Clinical Development, Science, Search and Innovation and Global Procurement and with a strong focus on commercially viable solutions, you will act as internal lead on high impact/complexity contract negotiations. You will be recognized as an expert within the area of expertise with significant influence on and exposure towards the global leadership team as well as the entire organization.


 
Your responsibilities will include:


•    Being the legal advisor to the relevant functions within the R&D organization. 
•    Provide general legal support on a broad range of various types of R&D contracts and IP related matters, and acting as lead on contract negotiations, e.g. service agreements, research collaborations, partnership agreements, and license agreements. 
Assist the M&A team with licensing for pipeline sourcing.
•    Offering guidance on legal risk management and cross-functional collaboration.
•    Advising on various projects, e.g. outsourcing, M&A or other cross functional activities.
•    Ensure alignment with key stakeholders within Global Legal, IPR & Compliance, and the business
•    Understanding the line of business’ needs in a R&D context 

Your qualifications

 

You will be trusted with responsibility and freedom to perform, which requires a structured work approach, corporate mindset, ability to prioritize, and a strong business acumen.


 
To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications: 
 
•    Master of Laws (Cand. Jur.), M.Sc. in business administration and commercial law (cand.merc.jur) or similar.
•    5-10 years professional experience, preferably from working as an attorney at a law firm or a similar legal professional position in a pharmaceutical company
•    Knowledge about R&D related agreements, university collaborations and partnership agreements, licensing agreements and other early stage business development agreements, service and consultancy agreements, general contracting skills, GxP, IPR and GDPR.
•    Strong communication abilities and strong stakeholder management skills.
•    Proficient in English with strong negotiation and contract drafting skills. 
•    An autonomous, collaborative, and eager to learn attitude. 
•    A positive attitude and sense of humor are valued.
 

 

Your new team
 
You will join a small but highly efficient legal team of six skilled and dedicated legal specialists and be part of the Global Legal, IPR & Compliance department, which includes approximately 50 legal, IPR & compliance specialists in total. You will be based at LEO Pharma HQ in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen.
