You will join Indirect Procurement. Where you will be accountable for the Procurement area within the respective category/categories. Empowered to pursue procurement opportunities to improve total cost proactively.

Your Role
The Senior Category Manager is a hands‑on, execution‑driven senior individual contributor, able to navigate complex situations, influence without authority, and deliver measurable business impact. The role is responsible for defining, driving, and executing global category strategies; analyzing spend and supplier data to support strategic decision‑making; staying current on relevant supply markets; and developing and implementing approved strategies that create sustainable value for the company.
In details, the Senior Category Manager is expected to handle:
Category Strategy & Value Creation
- Define and execute global category strategies aligned with business priorities
- Manage assigned categories, including supplier segmentation, governance, and performance
- Use spend and supplier data to identify optimization and value-creation opportunities
- Drive initiatives that improve category and supplier performance
Sourcing, Contracting & Negotiation
- Lead tenders and RFx processes end-to-end
- Negotiate commercial terms and ensure compliant contract coverage with Legal
- Own key commercial aspects of supplier relationships, including pricing, payment terms, and TCO
Supplier Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Maintain market intelligence on supply dynamics, cost drivers, risks, and business needs
- Map suppliers and support supplier strategy with Category Councils
- Lead SRM activities with strategic suppliers, including governance and performance management
Stakeholder Management & Governance
- Lead stakeholder and supplier review meetings with clear follow-up actions
- Act as a trusted advisor across key business functions
- Lead complex sourcing projects with cross-functional stakeholders
- Ensure transparency, compliance, and audit readiness
Accountability & Ways of Working
- Act in line with LEO strategy, with ownership and professionalism
- Contribute as a role model for strong category management and execution excellence
Your Qualifications
We imagine that you have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in Procurement and Category Management, including Category Manager experience within Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences, as well as solid exposure to Indirect Procurement
- Proven track record of operating effectively in a global matrix organization, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage suppliers that impact commercial performance and growth
- Demonstrated success in leading complex procurement and sourcing initiatives, including the negotiation and execution of large, business-critical contracts
- Strong understanding of supplier contracting frameworks, terms and conditions, commercial models, and the design and implementation of procurement solutions across cross-functional teams
- Excellent capabilities in negotiation, contract management, stakeholder engagement, supplier relationship management, and category management, including spend analysis, strategy development, sourcing execution, and value delivery
Professional competences (preferred):
- Experience in managing Contract Sales Organizations (CSOs) and/or working with Contract Research Organizations (CROs), delivering Non‑Interventional Studies (NIS)
- Exposure to commercial excellence, or go‑to‑market transformation initiatives
- Good understanding of the commercial, marketing and medical affairs activities in the Pharmaceutical industry
