We are now looking for a highly experienced and strategically minded (Senior) Category Manager for Logistics and Distribution to join our Global Procurement team.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a critical category and shape the future of LEO Pharma’s global logistics setup in close collaboration with senior stakeholders across the business.

 

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the global category strategy for logistics and distribution services, including freight, warehousing, and commercial distribution flows. You will ensure that LEO Pharma has a robust, scalable, and cost-effective logistics infrastructure that supports our global operations and aligns with our broader transformation agenda including supply chain resilience, sustainability, and operational excellence.

You will act as a strategic business partner to key functions such as Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial, and Finance, and lead cross-functional initiatives that drive long-term value creation. Your ability to connect category strategy with enterprise-wide business needs will be essential in delivering impactful outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Category Ownership: Define and continuously evolve the global logistics and distribution category strategy, including partner landscape, footprint alignment, and governance frameworks.
  • Sourcing and Contract Management: Lead strategic sourcing activities and negotiate high-value contracts for freight, warehousing, and distribution services, and ensuring commercial competitiveness, compliance, and scalability.
  • Operational Optimization: Identify and drive global optimization initiatives by analyzing cost drivers, service inefficiencies, and risk exposures across distribution flows.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as Procurement Lead on strategic projects such as warehouse transitions, supply chain transformations, and network redesigns.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across functions and geographies, ensuring alignment, transparency, and enterprise-wide value realisation.
  • Sustainability and Risk Management: Integrate sustainability principles and risk mitigation strategies into category planning and supplier management.

 

Your Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a strong strategic mindset, deep category expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a global and matrixed organization.

You bring:

  • Extensive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics operations, ideally within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation within logistics and distribution categories.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable category strategies and drive execution across functions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • A global mindset and comfort working across cultures, regions, and time zones.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
  • A relevant academic background in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or similar.
