At LEO Pharma, we are looking for a People Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Formulation Development department within Pharmaceutical Development. This is a leadership role working closely with a team of scientists and laboratory technicians to ensure smooth workflows, high-quality output, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Our laboratories in Ballerup are equipped for advanced characterization and experimental formulation work, supporting projects from early concepts through to clinical trial-ready products. You will work with colleagues in Pharmaceutical Development and related functions within LEO Pharma, as well as external partners, to make sure projects are delivered efficiently.

Your Role
In this role, you will:

• Manage and support a team of about ten formulation scientists and formulation technicians in their day-to-day work. You will report to Director of Product Formulation and Support.
• Plan, prioritise, and monitor formulation activities to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
• Oversee the running and maintenance of formulation laboratories, ensuring equipment is operational and safety processes are followed.
• Coordinate with external partners for project handovers and technology transfers.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, documentation requirements, and internal SOPs.
• Support process improvements using LEAN tools, training needs, and implementation of new tools or equipment.
• Handle administrative tasks related to people management, including scheduling, performance reviews, and recruitments.

Your Qualifications
We imagine you:

• Hold an MSc or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
• Have proven experience managing scientific team in a CMC environment.
• Have solid knowledge of formulation development processes, cGMP, and CMC requirements and digitalisation.
• Are organised, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple projects.
• Communicate clearly and can troubleshoot operational challenges effectively.
