Head of Global Medical Strategy to Execution Excellence

We are seeking a strategic medical leader to develop and implement a global medical strategy framework across all therapeutic areas. This role will ensure alignment with disease area goals, drive medical excellence, and integrate medical insights into cross‑functional planning.

Your role

In this role you will lead the creation and deployment of a global medical strategy framework and field execution model, partnering with therapeutic area teams and international operations to ensure strategic alignment across all markets. You will act as a key liaison with global functions, embedding high‑value medical insights into strategic planning to deliver medical excellence.

 

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Build, maintain, and communicate the global medical strategy framework, ensuring consistent direction and prioritisation across geographies.
  • Partner with Therapeutic Area teams to adapt and implement strategic priorities, translating them into actionable execution plans at the country level.
  • Develop measurable goals and KPIs that link strategic plans and field execution directly to business impact.
  • Establish global and regional forums to share best practices in strategy‑driven execution.
  • Benchmark LEO Pharma’s strategic approach and execution performance against competitors and industry leaders.
  • Create systems for regular, accurate reporting on strategic and execution outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Excellence, Country Medical Leads, and other relevant functions to ensure strategies and execution adhere to governance, legal, and compliance standards.

 

 

Your qualifications

 

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:

 

  • Advanced degree in Natural Sciences (e.g., PharmD, Ph.D., MD) with 8+ years of field medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 5 years in global medical leadership.
  • Strong scientific background with thorough understanding of clinical research, pharmaceutical regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven track record in developing field medical stakeholder engagement resources, training, and leading cross‑functional projects.
  • Strategic thinker able to structure processes, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results in evolving environments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to present to and influence senior leadership without formal authority.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and resilience as a change leader; willing to travel up to 30% of the time.

While this position is based at our HQ in Denmark, we are open to hiring a person based anywhere in Europe to work remotely, with travel required to collaborate closely with our global teams by visiting our HQ, or with local teams by visiting our country affiliates.
