Role Description

Help build a new function and shape how LEO Pharma develops its medicines. As Global Program Director in our newly formed Project and Portfolio Management function, you will be a core member of Global Program Teams, turning strategy into decisions and delivery for our development assets. You will frame the decisions that matter, bring the team to clear options and recommendations, and drive execution across a global matrix and with external partners. If you learn fast, thrive in ambiguity and want to see your impact, this could be your next defining opportunity.

Join us in creating a future legacy in medical dermatology

At LEO Pharma, we are global leaders in medical dermatology. We have 115 years’ experience in bringing innovation to healthcare. And we are eager to do much more. Each year, close to 100 million people have a better day because of our medicines.

Your role

As Global Program Director, you will be accountable for driving execution of plans for assigned asset(s), owning the integrated plan and budget, and enabling the Global Program Team to deliver against agreed strategic goals. Working in close collaboration with the Global Program Head or Global Brand Lead, you will develop and execute the tactical plan for the asset, ensure alignment across functions, and help drive the team toward effective decisions, timely delivery, and an approved label reflecting the target product profile for each indication. This is a matrix leadership role with broad responsibility across planning, coordination, governance, and risk management.

  • Act as a sparring partner to the Global Program Head and Global Brand Lead in defining asset strategy, challenging assumptions and bringing an integrated cross-functional perspective
  • Lead the Global Program Team in developing and executing stage-appropriate, cross-functional program plans, including scenarios, timelines, budgets, and integrated product planning
  • Frame the decision required at each stage, organize the team to develop options and scenario plans, and bring clear, well structured recommendations to governance, while managing risk and ensuring alignment with governance-approved strategy
  • Consolidate and coordinate program plans and budgets across functions, challenge assumptions where needed, and monitor execution against agreed timelines, costs, quality, and strategic intent
  • Facilitate high-performing global team collaboration through effective meeting leadership, stakeholder engagement, communication, conflict management, and matrix support
  • Ensure program information and reporting are accurate and decision-ready, and champion best practice in project management and drug development across LEO
  • Partner with external collaborators, including through joint governance bodies such as Joint Development Committees and Joint Steering Committees

Your qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:

  • University degree in a life science discipline such as BSc, MSc, Cand. Pharm, MD, or PhD
  • Drug development experience across multiple phases at program level, combined with strong project or program management expertise and a track record of measurable impact
  • Demonstrated learning agility: you have moved into new areas, learned quickly and added value, for example in a new disease area, modality or function
  • Experience working in cross-functional and multinational teams, with a solid understanding of matrix collaboration
  • Experience with partnered development and joint governance bodies such as JDCs and JSCs is a strong advantage
  • Enterprise and systems thinking: you connect the dots across functions and understand how decisions and changes across the organization impact strategy and value
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, resource planning, and tracking
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • PMI, PRINCE2 or similar certification, or team coaching experience, is an advantage
  • Experience applying AI in project or portfolio management is an advantage

LEO Pharma is built on collaboration, innovation and curiosity. Is this you? Can you bring this and a results-oriented and resilient mindset, along with the ability to energize and mobilize teams, take ownership without waiting to be asked, navigate ambiguity, and maintain strategic focus in a dynamic international environment?

Your new team

You will join Project and Portfolio Management and report to the VP, Project and Portfolio Management. Project and Portfolio Management is a newly formed function that elevates project management from operational support to a strategic business driver. As a member of the Global Program Team, you will work closely with the Global Program Head and our key partners, including Global Product Strategy, Science, Search and Innovation (SSI), GPS, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Commercial, Product Supply, Finance, and functional leaders across development and beyond. In this role, you will help strengthen the matrix, drive cross-functional execution, and shape best practice in global program management across LEO. LEO Pharma is on a journey to implement AI, and in Project and Portfolio Management we are actively bringing AI into how we work.

This position is based in Ballerup.
