Your Role

You will play a crucial role in the development of new drug products (with a focus on topical drug products) but also for the continuous building of world leading topical capabilities at LEO Pharma. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Representing Pharmaceutical Development on Global Program Teams (development pipeline projects) and lead CMC sub teams.
• Providing Pharmaceutical Development input to over-all cross-functional project plans
• Translating overall project plans and product profiles to pharmaceutical development strategies and plans.
• Working with responsible formulation, analytical and drug substance scientists with the aim to execute on the agreed project plans and develop product differentiating formulations.
• Securing access to external innovative drug delivery technologies through collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Exploring and introducing digital/AI tools to aid CMC development processes
• Author and review documentation for authorities when relevant
• Overseeing activities at Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMO´s) to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Assessing business development opportunities from a Pharmaceutical Development perspective
• Being part of driving the further building of world class topical development sciences within LEO Pharma

In addition to these tasks, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments within the organisation to contribute to the successful development of topical drugs. Your expertise and contributions will be essential in shaping the future of pharmaceutical development at LEO Pharma.

Your qualification

We are looking for you who is eager and curious to learn, possesses a positive attitude and is open minded.

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have

• A relevant degree, preferably at PhD level, in pharmaceutical science or a related relevant field.
• At least 5+ years of experience within pharmaceutical science and project management / coordination within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Solid knowledge and experience of drug development processes
• Broad, but extensive experience in pharmaceutical development and preferably experience with topical drug product development.
• Preferably, experience of working with external partners and CDMO´s

Within Pharmaceutical Development at LEO Pharma, we have a small team, Pharmaceutical Sciences & Innovation, with the responsibility to drive early project pharmaceutical development strategies, secure product differentiation by creating access to leading drug delivery technologies and be part of the cross functional task to identify and mature new project and product opportunities. To execute on our responsibilities, we work in close collaboration with several other teams in Pharmaceutical Development with dedicated scientists and technicians passionate for designing and developing topical formulations.
